Primary 6 NYPS Student Leader

Nanyang Primary School brings back fond memories. The 6 years have passed within the blink of an eye and yet an everlasting memory of my former Primary school resides in my very brain. The alluring, sea-blue carpets of the rubberized-halls,a myriad of colours donned every con er of a poster, the whiff of freshly-churned worksheets and the comfortable whirring of a photocopy machine is enough to rekindle the times I spent there.
Instinctively, the moment Mr Chew posted an SMB message on volunteering to be a Student leader for the impending Primary 6 camp, my eyes sparkled instantaneously and I leapt for the golden opportunity.A chance to revisit the buildings of childhood and innocence (OK,I am not implying that our class is too matured but maybe a little) was definitely my cup of tea.Briefing was scheduled on Saturday from 9am to 11pm.Time flew past.Soon I found myself donned in the fiery colours of a Hwa Chong P.E attire strolling leisurely in the NYPS campus.Curious as a child, my eyes darted consistently from corner to corner without hesitation, similar to a fish out of water and soon devised that there were no new refreshing additions to the school, other than a refurbished mahogany table located on the third floor.

Suddenly,I just marvelled and took note of the little snippets of the school that I had carelessly overlooked in my years here.In the Interaction Room, a pristine whiteboard may look common on the surface but by applying a slight push, it revealed to be a swivelled door, leading to an enclosed room dominated by electric-blue windows. An unexpected detour in a restroom soon found myself staring quizzically at a extra gleaming washing basin that I had just discovered!I grinned at this contraption, feeling satisfied.

Being a Student leader for the upcoming Primary 6 camp is an enriching, refreshing opportunity.Possessing such experiences as a Prefect in NYPS and AVA Prefect was the fuel which drove me to click "A" on the message board.Yes, I would miss lessons on Monday and Tuesday but I guess it was worth it. =D

  1. Lols, our class is too matured? Hehe... Nice camp in NYPS, sounds fun, and innocent. You gained experienced in being a leader and at the same time, gained CIP hours! Killing two birds with one stone. Good job gary! Sometimes, we wish to be what we were before, but during thatt time we want to get that over with. :)

  2. Oh how we long for the good old days when we were just children!

If I had a chance to go back to my primary school and help out, I would take it too! It is good to experience your former school again, and what more discovering things you never knew existed in your 6 years studying there. :D

Love the whole thing. I am glad you took the feedback I gave as apparent by that fact that you paragraph and leave spaces now. Great job!
